Adventword

This year I am participating in “Adventword,” a global advent calendar of words and images. However, this year, I am doing it through St. Bernard’s new Instagram account (if you are on Instagram, feel free to follow!) This is the reflection and image from the first day of the calendar.  

 “Look at the fig tree and all the trees; as soon as they sprout leaves you can see for yourselves and know that summer is already near.”

This rogue rosebud reminded me of what Jesus was talking about in the gospel of Luke in chapter 21.

Each bud holds the promise of a flower, then fruit and seeds, as well as the promise and reminder for me that something beautiful and good is coming.
