And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Every Thursday from 7.00pm to 8.30pm a group from St. John’s and beyond gathers to discuss some topic of interest, where faith and life intersect. The topic each week depends on what is happening in the church, the world, or what is on the hearts and minds of those gathered. The goal of this group is not so much to come to some definitive answer or cohesive conclusion on any given issue, but to begin exploring different topics, to engage our God-given gifts of wonder and curiosity, to question old ideas and assumptions, and to hear new and different perspectives. The tone of the group is informal and friendly – gathering in a “living-room” type setting – usually with tea involved. While healthy questioning and challenging of positions takes place, the discussion is always respectful of diverse and differing voices and opinions.
All are welcome to come join the conversation! For more information, please contact the Rev. Cameron Gutjahr ([email protected]).
