Every year I am supposed to prepare “Mutual Ministry Goals,” in consultation with the wardens, my mentor and our regional archdeacon. Unfortunately, the fruits of exercises like this often end up gathering dust on a shelf somewhere.

However, what if it didn’t have to be like that? What if these goals were exciting and life-giving? What if they could be things we talked about; encouraged and aided our participation in God’s mission where we have been called?

This year, I am excited about these Mutual Ministry Goals: Prayer, Sustainability, Whistler and Connection. Therefore, last Sunday, Parish Council reviewed and approved them as our shared goals for the year.

In the coming weeks, I will explore these goals further. However, if you are curious, if you have questions, or if you feel especially moved about one or more of these, let me know, I’d love to talk about them with you.

God is up to something here, with us and through us, and it is a great blessing to share this work and life in Christ together; to see where the Spirit is leading St. John’s.

Thanks be to God!
